April Wellbeing Report – Health Warning Marathon Runners and Endurance Athletes

April Wellbeing Report – Health Warning Marathon Runners and Endurance Athletes

I’m uploading full details of this Health Warning by Wednesday 7th April.

If you are entering the Brighton Marathon in a couple of weeks, this Health Warning will NOT be suggesting you don’t take part in Brighton’s 1st marathon.
You’ll still be able to relax and enjoy the event after reaing this information.  It is certainly not my intention to spoil anyones fun and thought long and hard about even putting this health warning out there a week or two before one of Brighton’s biggest ever sporting occasions.

In the end I felt I had an obligation to pass it on simply because it has the potential to save lives.
It certainly won’t be popular with everyone who reads it and will come as a shock to many as it did to me, but I think most people will be grateful in the end.

It will give you important information that might affect the way you choose to run the event perhaps taking it a little easier, varying your pace, resting from time to time and generally enjoying the day a little more rather than just pushing yourself to run the course as fast as you can.

I must admit if I was entering the marathon and had not seen this information I’d probably be pushing myself as to run it as hard and fast as I could.
I’ve done plenty of extreme endurance training sessions in my time, but will never approach the same way again.

Hopefully I’ll have this all online by the time you first look.
If not please drop me a line.

kind regards

Eugene Butcher

Fed up with stop start fitness fads?

Fed up with stop start fitness fads?
Try something fun & interesting, you can, learn, practise or even teach at
any time in your life!

As far as exercise or health, fitness, wellbeing programmes go, “If something was really good for you, wouldn’t people be doing it at every
age?”

That’s exactly what happens with Choi for Life at Oceans in Brighton.
It’s taken 5 years to prove beyond all doubt that Choi for life is different
not only to every other martial art but to every other health or wellbeing
programme. Don’t take our word for though, come down and watch a class or
meet some our students.

As far as we know it’s the most accessible wellbeing martial school in the
world, nobody has so far told us otherwise.

What other programme can challenge, interest, develop and hold the interest
of people from age 5 to 85?

Yes we have the super fit students as well but Choi for Life is about more
than that.

Argus Newspaper to report as 3 grandparents presented with their black belts at Oceans Wellbeing Centre, Rottingdean

The Argus Newspaper sent one to their photographers down to Oceans Wellbeing
Centre this morning to photograph 3 grandparents being presented with their
black belts in Choi Kwang Do.

Oceans Wellbeing Centre have a unique approach to teaching Choi Kwang Do as
wellbeing programme for people of all ages. The day time Choi for Life
classes allow adults of any age to put their health first and focus on
restoring vitality and wellbeing. If proof were needed that this really is a healthy martial with health
benefits for all you need only look at the stats for members attending these
Choi for Life classes. 90% are women and 65% are over 60. These
demographics are simple unheard of for a martial art class.

If these guys did not feel better and enjoy their training they would not
keep coming back for more, day after day and week after week.

Today 3 students from these Choi for Life classes were promoted to black
belt after successfully completing their grading last Sunday. More details
soon.
The story will appear in this Thursday’s Argus newspaper 10th December 2010.

Tess Wilkins seen in the pictures on crutches has just got out of hospital
following a hip replacement, she’ll be taking the time off she needs to
recover from her operation properly. Mariannick Atkinson, Mick Bensley and
Tess Wilkins all started Choi for Life classes at the beginning of 2007.
They soon became dedicated students training most days, in 2008 they also
became assistant instructors and have been a great help and inspiration to
others just starting out.
